. Casey and Brady got married in June at Lake Mary Events Center, a hidden gem on the water in Lake Mary, Florida. With a hot summer afternoon, we kept the ceremony inside the glass rotunda, where the floor-to-ceiling windows showed off the view while keeping everyone cool. Once the sun started going down on the water around 8pm, we went back outside for the golden light on the lawn with the lake as the backdrop.
The venue: Lake Mary Events Center
Lake Mary Events Center sits right on the water, and it gives you options. Casey and Brady could have said their vows outside, but with Florida summer heat we moved the ceremony into the rotunda instead, a full wall of glass that still puts the lake right behind the altar. Once the sun starts dropping, the back lawn is one of the best sunset spots. Read my full Lake Mary Events Center guide →
Getting ready
The morning started with the little details on a sentimental mirrored tray, and getting creative with an invitation floating in the pool. Casey and Brady read their vows to each other before their first look on the aisle.

The ceremony
Casey and Brady exchanged vows inside the rotunda with the lake view in the windows behind them. For a late June Florida wedding, that’s the setup I’ll recommend every time.

Portraits
This is where Lake Mary Events Center wins me over. My favorite portrait spot on the whole property is inside, looking straight out at the lake through that big glass wall. It’s soft, unique and makes for the most elegant photos. When the sun started going down, we went outside for bridal party portraits.

The reception
After the ceremony and cocktail hour, the party started in the ballroom with the first cut as Mr. and Mrs. Johnson.
